How to: Resolve floppy drive controller IRQ conflict.
Solution:
Open 'System' from 'Control Panel' and use 'Device Manager' to change the IRQ setting of the conflicting device.
1) Open the 'Device Manager'.
2) Select the 'View devices by type' radio button.

3) Select the 'Floppy drive controllers' in the 'View devices by type' list box to expand the list of components.
4) Select the floppy drive controller and click 'Properties'. (The floppy drive controller 'Properties' dialog box appears.)
5) Click the 'Resources' tab, and view the information in the 'Conflicting device list' area.
NOTE: The 'Conflicting device list' area will display what resource is in conflict and what device is causing the conflict.
6) Click 'OK' to close the floppy drive controller 'Properties' dialog box.
7) Double-click on the device type of the device causing the conflict, select the device, and click 'Properties'. (The 'Properties' dialog box of the device causing the conflict will appear.)

8) Click the 'Resources' tab, and select the 'Interrupt Request' in the 'Resource settings' list box.
9) If the 'Use automatic settings' check box is selected, clear it.
10) Click 'Change Setting...'. (The 'Edit Interrupt Request' dialog box appears.)
NOTE: If the 'No Modifications Allowed' message box appears, this resource cannot be changed.

11) Select the interrupt request from the 'Value' list box.

NOTE: If the device is not plug and play, you will have to set the resources using hardware jumpers before the resource value can be changed.
12) Click 'OK' to select a new interrupt.
13) Click 'OK' again. (The confirmation box appears.)
14) Click 'Yes' to restart the computer.
